Great one!! Police Foils Bank Robbery in Rivers...See Photos of Cash, Ammunitions Recovered

An attempt by a seven-man gang to raid a first generation bank bullion van of its hundreds of millions of naira was foiled by the special anti-robbery squad of the Rivers state police command at about 5pm on Wednesday, October 14.

 

 According to eyewitness report, the armed robber laid siege on a bullion van of Diamond Bank regional office located in Trans Amadi in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The police detectives who were tipped-off
chased after the robbers who had succeeded carting millions of naira stacked in bags inside an abandoned operational vehicle.

The money was recovered and was taken to the command’s headquarters located along Moscow road, Port Harcourt.

Police sources said that the criminals escaped and abandoned their operational vehicle, when they could not withstand the gun battle with the policemen.

 

A senior police officer revealed that the fleeing hoodlums numbered about seven, were fully armed and operated in two vehicles.
