The General Overseer of the Household of God Church, Reverend Chris Okotie has said that former President, Goodluck Jonathan would not have contested for a second term if he hadn’t been deceived by the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.
Okotie said further that Jonathan contested because
Oritsejafor had issued a false prophecy assuring the former president of victory in the 2015 polls.
The controversial Reverend, who is also a former presidential aspirant, made the comments on Sunday, October 25, 2015 while delivering a sermon in his church in Lagos.
“Pastor Oritsejafor deceived Jonathan with a false prophecy from God that he (Jonathan) would win the election convincingly,” Okotie said according to Punch.
“The man (Jonathan) became convinced to contest after Oritsejafor had told him, using CAN’s name, that God had ordained him the winner of the 2015 presidential election,” he added.
“I told CAN and PFN that Jonathan was not of God; that whosoever would win would be one that had built a tabernacle in the presence of God. I told CAN and PFN that Jonathan did not belong to the House of David and that since he did not belong to the household, his winning would bring more sorrow to Nigeria,” Okotie said.
Okotie also said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the elections was an act of God.
Buhari defeated Jonathan in the March 28 elections becoming the first Nigerian candidate to unseat an incumbent president in democratic elections.
