The five suspected kidnappers of former SGF, Olu Falae, have been arraigned in court.
The five suspects allegely kidnapped the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae on September 21. They were on Thursday, arraigned before Justice Williams Olamide of the Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure, the state capital.
The suspects--Abubakar Auta, Bello Jannu, Umaru Ibrahim, Masahudu Muhammadu and Idris Lawal, were arraigned on a five-count charge of procuring or counseling another for the purpose of kidnapping, aiding and abetting to commit kidnapping and abduction, kidnapping, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and committing armed robbery
The act, according to the state prosecutor, Adeyemi Tuki, contravened Section 5(1)(a) of the Ondo State Anti-kidnapping and Abduction Law.
She said the suspects and others now at large committed the offence on Monday, September 21, 2015 in Akure, Ondo State.
After reading the charges to them, the accused persons pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Justice Olamide ruled that they be remanded in prison custody until November 10 for mention.
