Adamawa Assembly Standing Committees Dissolved

house-of-assembly

Speaker of Adamawa House of Assembly, Alhaji Kabiru Mijinyawa, on Thursday announced the dissolution of all the House standing committees.
Announcing the dissolution at a plenary, Mijinyawa said that the committees were dissolved to enable the house reconstitute new ones, taking into consideration the members’ areas of specialisation and strength.

The House, at the plenary, also passed a resolution suspending Alhaji Abdurahman Abubakar (APC-Mubi South) for three months for “violating the house standing order”.
The motion for the suspension of Abubakar, who was removed as the House Committee Chairman on Finance, Budget and Appropriation, was moved by the House Majority Leader, Alhaji Mahmood Musa (APC-Mayo-Belwa).
He said that Abubakar violated the standing order by going to the press to criticise the Assembly’s approval of N11 billion sectoral virement in the 2015 state budget.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Speaker of the house, who presided over the plenary, also walked out Alhaji Rufai Umar (APC-Gombi) for making a phone call during the plenary. (NAN)
