The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, on Saturday advised corps members to be change agents of the Federal Government in the communities during their service year.
Olawumi
made the appeal while addressing the 2015 Batch B Stream 1 corps
members at the Lagos State NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana-Ipaja.
He said that for government to actualise its change agenda, everybody must embrace value re-orientation.
Olawumi

damage the good image of the country, especially during these difficult
times.
The army officer described Nigerian youths
as the best in the world, urging them to use their community development
service activities to solve community-related problems.
He
also advised them to be involved in the development of infrastructure,
healthcare and human capacity building, to compliment government’s
efforts.
Olawumi cautioned the corps members
against misuse of the enviable opportunity provided by the scheme to
acquire a skill outside their course of study.
He said that the acquisition of such skills would add value to their lives by being self-reliant and employers of labour.
Olawumi encouraged the corps members to start small and become big entrepreneurs.
