Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, has declared that Nigeria is on the right path to achieve greatness under the current dispensation and will be healed completely of its numerous problems.
Osinbajo stated this during the 20th anniversary thanksgiving celebration of the Reedemers International Leadership Academy,
RILA, which was also used as awards ceremony/grand house reception for him yesterday in Lagos. RILA, which is the leadership training arm of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, since 1995 awarded Osinbajo an award in recognition of his contribution and excellence public governance as a distinguished alumnus.
Speaking at the occasion, Osinbajo noted that humans, as the salt of the earth, can turn a barren land to a land of abundance yield. He said, having had the opportunity to serve the country from the source (top), he will act as the salt that will be poured into the source to perfect it, which will in turn flow into the country to change for the better.
He pointed that the country is very far away from what it ought to be, but promised that the current leadership under President Muhammadu Buhari will do its best to fulfill its mandate of taking the country to the Promised Land.
He said: “RILA has been a great experience for me, it is not just an opportunity to learn the word of God but it is more of an opportunity to enable ourselves to be true leaders in whatever capacity we found ourselves.
“What our country really requires are men and women who come from the faith, who are able to demonstrate their faith in the market place, wherever they may be. I think that’s what RILA has done excellently and so well.”
Other awardees include the wife of the Vice-president Dolapo and wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode.
Speaking earlier in his welcome address, the Rector of the Academy, Pastor Ben Ewuzie noted that the institution was specifically established to train Christian leaders both for the ministry and the marketplace, who are transformed to drive urban and international missions with a view to achieving spiritual rebirth and social transformation.
“To the glory of God, this year 2015, just like Olive Tree Parish, RILA, marks 20 years of providing excellent, cutting-edge training, raising stars in the kingdom and celebrates the manifestation of the stars among nations,” he added.
