Ogun Budgets N200bn For 2016

Ogun State has budgeted over N200 billion for the 2016 fiscal year.
The state governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, presented the financial estimates of N200.3 billion for next year before the House of Assembly yesterday in Abeokuta.

He also disclosed that he disagreed with some of his brother governors clamouring for reduction of the N18,000 minimum
Tagged:“Budget of Optimization,” Amosun said N108billion or 59 per cent of the total budget would come from the internally generated revenue (IGR) and N42billion is expected from the federation account.
The governor stated that the budget had a reduction of about 4.9 per cent from the 2015 budget of N210billion, with capital project expected to gulp about N99billion, while recurrent expenditure would have N100.9billion representing 50.4 per cent of the total budget.
A breakdown of the budget showed that education, health, agriculture and housing would have N41.1billion (20.06 per cent), N14.3billion (7.13 per cent), N10.2billion (5.08 per cent) and N26.5billion (13.27 per cent) respectively.
Also Rural and Employment Generation would get N31.04billion (15.5 per cent), while infrastructural development has N77.97billion or 38.93 per cent.
Amosun however assured workers of the state that he would not support the agitation for reduction of the minimum wage by some governors.
