Ondo APC crisis worsen as minister for Niger Delta shuns party members

Claudius Daramola

There is an ongoing controversy over the failure of the newly appointed Minister of State for Niger Delta, Prof. Claudius Daramola to visit the All Progressives Congress [APC] secretariat in Ondo State, leading to disappointment among members and party leadership.

it was gathered that they became disappointed not only that he was not able to meet the party members but for having allegedly initiated the meeting with the party members, and failed to show up.
It was gathered that the latest development would be making it the third time Daramola would be allegedly calling up a meeting with the party members, but would at the end of the day not show up.
Our correspondent observed that excited party members with journalists had gathered at the party secretariat along Oba-Adesida/Oyemekun road as early as 8.am on Friday, waiting patiently for the minister, who was expected at the party secretariat around 11.am.
Although, the party Chairman, Isaac Kekemeke was yet to arrive the state at that time, but it was learnt that he had directed his Deputy, Engr. Ade Adetimehin and other executive members of the party to receive the minister.
Sources within the party, however, revealed that Daramola’s change of mind might not be unconnected with the division within the party ahead of the 2016 governorship election.
But other sources told DAILY POST that there are factions within the party who are still aggrieved over the emergence of Daramola as minister and desperately looking for means to bring him down.
