Indonesian community where corpses are exhumed, re-buried in respect for the dead

dead3A certain small Indonesian community specifically the families in Toraja in South Sulawesi, reportedly have a popular belief in welcoming the spirit of a dead person back to the village of his origin, UK Express News reports.

As their belief demands, the bizarre ritual of dolling up mummies Ma’nen or the ceremony of cleaning corpses, is a practice to honour the spirits of their ancestors where they dig up the graves of their deceased loved ones, wash them, groom them and dress them up in fancy new clothes before walking them around in the village.
