Man, 35, Docked For Allegedly Stealing 2 Cows

Isa Hamadu, 35, was on Friday docked at an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court II, sitting at Isabo, for allegedly stealing two cows valued at N500,000.

The accused, whose address and occupation were not disclosed in court, pleaded not guilty to a charge of theft.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Augustine Ozimini, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offence on Nov. 1 at about 1 a.m. at Itakene Village, near Imala in Abeokuta.

He said the accused allegedly stole two cows valued at N500,000 belonging to Mr Umaru Suab, a herdsman.

Ozimini said the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The Magistrate, Mr Emmanuel Adekunte, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the matter till Feb. 3, 2016.
