A non-governmental organisation under the auspices of Lolo Ejefobiri Charity Foundation in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has called on the government and well-meaning Nigerians to assist her in catering for the welfare of widows and the less privilege the society.
The President of the organisation, Mrs Nkiruka Ejefobiri, while speaking during the end of year and fund raising party organised for the widows and less-privilege stated that she started the charity work 15 years ago, appealing for assistance from people to keep her project going.

“I am appealing to well-meaning Nigerians and the government to assist me in helping these challenged women, because the burden is too much for me. Most people come to me for help. When I helped, they go back to tell the others.
“A pastor brought a woman whom I assisted, through that woman, three more people came to me for help. I have spent 15 years in this work. I have not been keeping records, but for the few days I started putting my record down, I have helped about 150 women,” she said.
Ejefobiri who explained that she started the foundation because of what she had gone through in life, added that she has been using her life saving to sponsor the charity project.
“I have touched all these women in one way or the other. Many I rescued from hospital, some their children are not going to school, others I paid their rent. I tried to touch their lives positively.
“The money I get to add to my finances are from good-meaning Nigerians. I stay in front of St Michael Catholic Church, Karimo and talk to people about helping the needy,” she said.
One of beneficiary, a physically challenged woman, Ms. Anna Gabriel stated that Mrs Ejefobiri has been her source of strength, adding that apart from buying a wheel chair for her, she has always been there whenever she called on her for financial assistance.
