Some defiant commercial motorcycle operators wept like babies in Apapa area of Lagos State yesterday, when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Apapa Police Station, SP Rotimi Odutona, led a team of policemen to impound commercial motorcycles for flouting the state law.
The policemen succeeded in impounding over 20 motorcycles in the area and moved them to Alausa in Ikeja. The Lagos State government had made a law banning commercial motorcycles from plying certain areas such as Apapa, Surulere, Victoria Island, Festac Town, Ikeja, among others, while the law also restricted them to certain routes in Ajegunle, Amukoko, Orile, Okokomaiko, Agege, among others.
