After weeks of training, travelling, seminars, exercises and eliminations, the Kinabuti and Pulse NG initiative powered by FCMB – Dare2Dream, held its grand finale on Sunday 6th December 2015 at the Federal palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The highly anticipated event, which
was a culmination of many weeks of intensive research that took the Dare2Dream & FCMB teams across 3 major universities in the country, scouting for the next faces in modelling that would represent the Dare2Dream brand and serve as a youth ambassador for the FCMB Youth Flexx account for a year.
The winner would also take home a cash prize of N500,000, a modelling contract with Few Model Agency, spa treatments at Oasis Spa and cosmetics from Maybelline New York Nigeria.
The show was hosted by TV personality, Zainab Balogun and Cool FM DJ, Xclusive. It kicked off at 7PM with a star studded line-up on the red carpet with dignitaries and celebrities such as Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Mo Abudu, Dakore Akande, Nkiru Anumudu, Maje Ayida, Ono Bello, Ndidi Obioha, Georgina Onuoha, Eunice Efole, Tonye Cole, Kholeka Maringa, Yeni Kuti, Kelechi Amad-Obi, Tatiana Moussali, Prince Tokunbo Sijuwade, Ladi Balogun, Baba Epega, Uti Nwachukwu and lots more.
21 year old student of the University of Port Harcourt Precious Linus emerged as as the winner of the competition. She received N500,000 and is the new face of FCMB’s Youth Segment.
Red Carpet
Also showing off their skills were the Dare2Dream finalists – Onyinye Ogugua, Mary Okubor, Linus Precious and Ifeoma Okafor, which thrilled the audience. The finalists also performed to classics like Bob Marley’s ‘One Love’ and Onyeka a cappela. The dance challenge alongside the professional troupe from SPAN(Society for Performing Arts of Nigeria) and modelling challenge during the fashion show, showcasing the latest Kinabuti collection with Few models and makeup by Maybelline NYNG, was a treat!
The judges – Mo Abudu, Omotola Jalade-Ekinde, Ladi Balogun (CEO, FCMB), Dharnesh Gordon (Nescafe) were in charge of scoring the contestants ans saw Precious Linus – a student of the University of Port Harcourt, emerge the winner. Her impressive vocals, dance moves and modelling capabilities earned her the spot as the new face of FCMB’s Flexx account.
And the winner is…
Ladi Balogun inspired the contestants and audience with a speech on authenticity and integrity. He also highlighted the reasons why FCMB gave its support to the initiative – “to give youths continuous chances to achieve their dreams.“
