The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rescue Group, Amb Wilberforce Juta, has recanted his earlier decision where he call for the resignation of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff.
Juta in a statement yesterday commended the National Executive Committee, NEC, which said
Sheriff should remain in office for a period of three months within which a convention should be organized to elect new leaders.
“We believe that, given the consultations made leading to the final decision, the PDP is now poised to re position itself both as a foremost and effective opposition party and as a better alternative platform for true democratic governance in our country.”
Juta through the PDP Rescue Group had earlier opposed the emergence of Sheriff as party Chairman, vowing not to relent until sanity is restored back to the party.
