South African president says Nigeria gave them independence

South African President, Jacob Zuma has said that South Africa cannot forget the role Nigeria played that gave them independence from the colonialists.

Zuma stated this on Tuesday March 8, 2016 while speaking at a joint session of the National Assembly, Abuja that the support and struggle of Nigeria which led to the attainment of independence 'is memorable.'
Nigeria and South Africa have witnessed a strange relationship in few years and political experts believe Jacob Zuma's visit to Nigeria is to strengthen the bilateral relationship.

"Nigeria supported the struggle for independence in South Africa" Zuma said.
"Nigeria provided unwavering support for South Africa during struggle for independence. We want the youth of the two countries to always recognize the role Nigeria played" Zuma said.
"Nigeria hosted exilde people from South Africa. Nigeria supported the liberation of Southern Africa and that is worth commemoration" Zuma added.
He said South African students were also trained in Nigerian universities free of charge, adding that relationship between Nigeria parliament and that of South Africa will strengthen person to person relationship.
He said Nigeria and South Africa must form a strong relationship for the betterment of Africa.
