Miltary troops reportedly killed over 30 Boko Haram insurgents
following an intense gun battle at the border villages of Kirchinga and
Imirs in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Security sources told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that local
vigilantes assisted the troops in the early hours of Monday, October 19.
According to a source, the troops had laid ambush for the
insurgents between the border villages, which had come under attacks in
recent times, leading to the killing of several residents.
A member of the Civilian JTF said following intelligence report
about the movement of the Boko Haram fighters, an ambush was laid, which
resulted in the killing of many of them.
“Following information about the movements of the Boko Haram we
got, we decided to lay an ambush in the early hours of Monday. Our
efforts yielded results as we succeeded in killing over 30 of the
insurgents after a fierce gun duel," the source said.
