Is a memoire on Lamar Odom coming soon? (ESPN)
Lamar Odom is recovering
faster than we thought. The former NBA player's kidneys have improved
so much over the last few days that he's been taken off dialysis and
won’t need a kidney transplant after all.
Sources
tell TMZ that the 35-year-old star's kidneys have recovered so well that
he's been moved out
of the ICU where he was receiving daily dialysis in
a private room.
Like we earlier reported, Lamar’s kidneys were the
biggest hurdle for the former LA Lakers player. Only days before he was
taken off dialysis, doctors feared that he would have to undergo a kidney transplant
in order to save his life. Doctors are reportedly very surprised that
his kidneys have made such a drastic improvement so quickly.
"A
healthy person like Lamar should regain function normal kidney function
and get off dialysis, so he won’t be on dialysis for the rest of his
life,” top urologist Dr. S. Adam Ramin of the Urology Cancer Specialists in Los Angeles tells Hollywood Life .
(E!) Nevertheless his wife, Khloe Kardashian and the rest of his loved ones have been so worried about Lamar. Rob Kardashian, like most fans, even offered to donate one of his kidneys to Lamar if things came to that. Lamar has also been struggling with his motor skills after reportedly suffering 12 strokes while in the hospital.
