Executive Secretary of the commission, Mr. John Kennedy Opara said this when he paid a courtesy visit to the governor of Osun state south western Nigeria, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola in Oshogbo the state Capital.
He said that Israel has one of the world’s strongest economies and he wants to tap from it and bring back to the country for development.
Mr Opara also urged the governor to encourage
affluent citizens of his state to support self sponsorship of pilgrimage to allow indigenes of the state who are spiritually rich to go for pilgrimage.
The NCPC boss affirmed that the Commission uses pilgrimage as a tool for moral transformation and spiritual rebirth and believed that the pilgrims who embark on holy pilgrimage would encounter God and come back as changed agents.
In his remarks, the governor of Osun state, Mr. Aregbesola said the programme of the NCPC will advance the citizens of Nigeria if well utilized.
He commended the Commission for identifying areas of strength in Israel which Nigeria would benefit from.
Mr. Aregbesola however encouraged the commission to pursue its programme to the letter as it would build up the economy and morality of the Nigerian citizens.
The Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission runs four pilgrimage programmes yearly, the Easter pilgrimage, Youth pilgrimage, Family pilgrimage and the October/December pilgrimage.
