Academy Award nominee Diane Lane and "The Gift" actor, Jason Bateman are the latest addition to the upcoming
Bateman will play FBI Agent and Felt lieutenant, Charlie Bates,
who discovers that Felt is leaking classified information on the
Watergate investigation, and is conflicted about destroying or
protecting his mentor.
Lane will play Felt’s brilliant, ambitious and troubled wife, Audrey, who shoulders the burden of Felt’s isolated and dangerous struggle against the White House.
It was earlier revealed that Academy Award-nominated actor, Liam Neeson, will star as the famous Watergate informant, Mark Felt, known as Deep Throat, in upcoming Peter Landesman’s historical spy thriller ''Felt.''
Mark Felt, Sr. was a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) special agent who retired as the Bureau's Deputy Director in 1973.
After keeping secret for 30 years his involvement with reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, Felt admitted to being the Watergate scandal's whistleblower, "Deep Throat," on May 31, 2005.
"Deep Throat
" was the pseudonym given to Felt who provided information to The
Washington Post in 1972 about the involvement of United States President Richard Nixon's administration in what came to be known as the Watergate scandal.
Felt is due to begin filming in March 2016.
