Former commissioner for Information and Strategy in Osun State, Hon. Sunday Akere has described the scenario that played out in the selection of principal officers of the two chambers of the National Assembly as unfortunate.
Speaking exclusively with our correspondent in Osogbo, Akere noted that since nobody contested on personal basis, everybody is expected to subject himself to the dictate of the party on which platform he was elected.
According to Hon. Akere, the action of some All Progressives Congress (APC) members in both chambers tend to undermine the authority of the party thereby giving room to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to flex muscle with the ruling party on policy implementation.
