A 19-year-old Billings man was arrested Thursday morning after police said he pulled a handgun and fled as an officer approached him.
According to a press release, Blake Stricker was arrested following the incident that began at about 9:40 a.m. when officers were called to a report of a car high-centered on a rock on Burnstead Avenue. The caller also reported that there was a handgun observed at the scene.
When officers arrived, Stricker allegedly pulled out a silver handgun as he ran away.
Officers set up a perimeter in the area and found Stricker hiding in the basement window well of a house in the 1000 block of North 24th Street.
Stricker was arrested on an outstanding warrant. A silver handgun was found in the same window well, police said.
The car that had become high-centered was reported stolen in Billings at 6:10 a.m. Thursday, police said.
