Singer's accusing Wizkid highlights ailing career

Davido, Dammy Krane, Wizkid
Think about Dammy Krane and all that flows through your mind is ‘talented’ singer. He possesses the qualities that many artistes would die to have. A great distinct voice, a knack for making ‘Good music’, and boundless performance energy.

But sadly, he is yet to attain his full potential. At the moment, Dammy Krane can never really be called a star. He is known, a sizeable percentage of his music has been heard and accepted, and he is ‘signed’ to 2face Idibia. But something is missing.
True Acceptance.
Dammy Krane
When was the last time Dammy Krane’s music achieved ubiquity, from the arid lands of the north, to the rolling hills of the East, and down to the creeks of the Niger Delta? When did all the major charts and playlists contain a song from h Krane? Never happened.
Dammy Krane has had considerable success in the music industry. A known singer with an album (Enterkraner), and many popular singles, the man still remains of of Nigeria Pop culture’s conundrum. What’s left for him?
He is in the news currently. Dammy didn’t drop a hit song, or a barnstorming video which has gotten conversations rolling. No. Instead, he is headline material, lapping up media spaces as the guy who has put Wizkid on blast.
Of all the driven spiel that Krane fired at Wizkid, one accusation which stands out is theft. Simply put, Dammy Krane claims that Wizkid has stolen from him on numerous occasions, which has made him consider physically assaulting Wizkid. That thought wasn’t acted upon though. How fortunate.
What a story that would have been. The newspaper headlines would have sreamed: 'Wizkid killed by Dammy Krane! Wizkid brutalised by Dammy Krane!' 'Wizkid dropped by Krane!' 'Wikzid’s cranium cracked by a Krane!'
No matter how exciting this might be for the neutrals, the real loser here is Dammy Krane. Being in the news this year for being ‘the guy who called out Wizkid’, isn’t the best strategy to get your foot on the right path. Controversy gives you bang, makes your name flash, throw your hat in the news circles, but it lacks the substance to get your career ticking rightly.

What Dammy Krane needs currently is not a beef on twitter. Wizkid may or may not have stolen from him, but twitter isn’t the right place to seek justice. His rants do not in any way make the situation better, neither will the theft be undone.
This controversy comes across as an ailing man, searching for his shot in the arm to boost his career. For Dammy, this is the wrong drug.
