Thomas Cohen opens up about the trauma of losing Peaches Geldof

THOMAS Cohen has discussed the "grief-stricken" trauma of losing former wife Peaches Geldof to a drug overdose while staying present in order to raise their 2 children.

The musician says he "refused to lose himself" after finding the body of his wife in their Kent home back in 2014.

"I got to the stage where I thought, 'I don't want to stay in this place anymore'," he toldthe Sunday Times magazine
"I'm not dissociating, hiding myself or escaping the reality of the situation.

'However, I'm not staying based in that trauma."
The 25 year old says he had to stay present for the sake of their young children Astala and Phaedra, now aged 3 and 2 respectively.
"At the time I was 23. I had two children who needed to be taken care of and, in maybe early June 2014, I started to do that, and we're now here in 2016," he said.
"I just made the decision to start looking after myself and refused to lose myself and become a traumatised, grief-stricken single father who everyone's going to look at and think I feel all of these things about."

Thomas added he still shares a close relationship with his "very sweet" father-in-law Sir Bob Geldof, and her sisters Pixie and Fifi.
Back in January the singer paid tribute to his former wife during a solo gig with girlfriend Daisy was by his side offering support, ahead of his new album Bloom Forever.
